Tamilisai Soundararajan Stresses Power of Dialogue at SRM SOLMUN’26

Kattankulathur: The SRM School of Law, SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST), inaugurated its flagship Model United Nations conference, SRM SOLMUN’26, bringing together students for discussions on diplomacy, leadership, and global policy.

Addressing the inaugural session, Tamilisai Soundararajan emphasised the importance of communication in global affairs. “Nations that communicate effectively can resolve even the most complex conflicts. Dialogue builds understanding and trust,” she said.

She highlighted that leadership must be rooted in fairness and inclusivity, comparing it to rain that sustains all life equally. She also noted India’s role in navigating global challenges with stability and a balanced approach.

Vice-Chancellor Muthamizhchelvan C stressed the need for ethical awareness and adaptability in a rapidly changing world. He encouraged students to develop communication and practical skills, noting that platforms like Model United Nations help shape confidence and real-world readiness.

Dean P. Sree Sudha said such forums are vital in building awareness of global issues and promoting dialogue-driven solutions.

The conference, organised by Forum Justitia under the theme “Forge. Negotiate. Lead.”, has drawn participation from students across disciplines, setting the stage for debates, collaboration, and policy innovation.

SRM SOLMUN’26 reflects the institution’s focus on nurturing future leaders equipped with a global perspective and strong communication skills.
