Saatvik Green Energy Receives Golden Peacock Occupational Health & Safety Award 2026 in Renewable Power Sector
Mumbai: Saatvik Green Energy Limited has been awarded the Golden Peacock Occupational Health & Safety Award 2026 in the Power (Renewable) Sector by the Institute of Directors (IOD), India.
The award recognizes organizations for their performance in workplace safety, employee well-being, and occupational health and safety management. Saatvik received the recognition for its safety initiatives across its solar PV module manufacturing operations in Ambala, Haryana.
According to the company, occupational health and safety practices are integrated into its manufacturing operations through governance systems, workforce engagement, leadership oversight, and technology-based risk management measures.
Safety management at the facility is supported by an Occupational Health & Safety Management System aligned with ISO 45001 standards. Occupational health and safety performance is also reviewed by senior leadership as part of the company’s environmental, social, and governance (ESG) framework.
The company has implemented several technology-driven safety measures, including digital visual inspection systems designed to identify manufacturing defects that may lead to electrical or fire-related risks. Real-time video analytics are used to monitor personal protective equipment (PPE) compliance and workplace behaviour, while predictive maintenance systems help identify equipment-related risks before incidents occur.
Additional safety processes include Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (HIRA), Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Permit-to-Work systems, Behaviour-Based Safety programmes, and Management of Change procedures.
Employee participation forms a key part of the company’s safety framework through safety committees, suggestion programmes, toolbox talks, recognition initiatives, and ongoing training programmes. The company stated that safety training coverage extends to its entire workforce, including contract workers.
Saatvik reported that it has maintained Zero Lost Time Injuries (LTI) over the past two years and recorded a reduction in its Total Recordable Incident Rate (TRIR). The company also reported more than 4,700 annual training hours during the period, along with zero compensation claims, zero equipment damage incidents, and no occupational health and safety-related regulatory penalties or notices.
The company’s occupational health and safety systems have also been assessed through ISO 45001 certification. It has additionally received a Bronze Medal rating from EcoVadis for its ESG performance.
The Golden Peacock Occupational Health & Safety Award is presented annually by the Institute of Directors (IOD), India. The selection process includes independent assessment, peer review, and evaluation by a jury chaired by Justice Uday U. Lalit, former Chief Justice of India, along with representatives from industry, governance, sustainability, law, and public administration.
