SIP Academy Completes 23 Years, Says It Has Impacted Over 16 Lakh Children
Chennai: SIP Academy, an after-school skill development organisation founded in Chennai, has completed 23 years of operations, marking the milestone with a review of its educational initiatives, international competitions, environmental programmes, and early childhood learning efforts.
Established in 2003, the organisation said it has expanded to more than 1,250 centres across India. Through programmes including SIP Abacus, Globalart, MiKids, and CriCo English, it stated that it has reached over 16 lakh children, focusing on skills such as concentration, arithmetic, creativity, communication, and confidence.
International Competitions Held in Chennai
During the year, SIP Academy organised the SIP Abacus International Prodigy Competition 2025 at the Chennai Trade Centre, bringing together more than 5,700 children aged between six and twelve from India and 11 other countries.
According to the organisation, the competition is among the world’s largest international abacus events and has been recognised four times by the Limca Book of Records. The event focused on testing participants’ speed, accuracy, concentration, and mental arithmetic skills.
The organisation also hosted the Globalart International Competition in Chennai, marking its return to India after 15 years. The competition featured 500 young artists from 14 countries, with participants aged five to eighteen creating artworks based on the theme “My World of AI.”
SIP Academy stated that Globalart India, introduced in 2005, has trained more than one lakh children through over 150 centres across eight states.
Environmental Initiatives Expanded
As part of its environmental activities, SIP Academy added three Miyawaki forests during the year, increasing the total number created by the organisation to six forests with 25,400 saplings.
According to the organisation, the initiative aims to promote environmental awareness among children and local communities while contributing to long-term ecological sustainability.
MiKids India Marks 20 Years
The year also marked the 20th anniversary of MiKids India, SIP Academy’s early childhood language development programme.
The programme focuses on developing phonics, vocabulary, reading, comprehension, and spoken English skills through structured learning methods designed for young children.
Expansion Plans
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Dinesh Victor, Managing Director of SIP Academy, said the organisation has helped more than 16 lakh children develop skills and confidence over the past 23 years. He added that the year’s international competitions, the 20-year milestone of MiKids, and the expansion of the Miyawaki forest initiative reflected the organisation’s broader educational and environmental efforts.
SIP Academy stated that, as it enters its 24th year, it plans to expand its reach, strengthen programme delivery, and provide more opportunities for children to learn and develop their skills.
