Suyashakthi Awards Honour Women Achievers at Chennai Ceremony
Chennai: The ninth edition of the ‘Suyashakthi’ Awards, organised by Sakthi Masala to recognise women entrepreneurs and achievers, was held at Andal Auditorium in Chetpet, Chennai.
The awards ceremony was attended by Tamil Nadu School Education Minister Rajmohan and Finance Minister Maria Wilson as special guests. MP Praveen Chakravarthy and actor Soori also participated in the event.
The programme was presided over by P.C. Duraisamy, Founder of Sakthi Masala, and Shanthi Duraisamy, Director of the company. MLA Soumya Anbumani and actress Urvashi were among those who attended.
Women achievers from various fields, including education, literature, social service, food, art and culture, were honoured with the Suyashakthi Awards.
Soumya Anbumani Recalls Rural Healthcare Initiatives
Speaking at the event, MLA Soumya Anbumani said that both her parental and marital families have a political background.
Recalling initiatives undertaken by Dr. Anbumani Ramadoss during his tenure as Union Health Minister, she said steps had been taken to prevent deaths caused by snakebites in rural areas.
She also recalled the introduction of the 108 emergency ambulance service during that period and efforts to ensure the availability of anti-snake venom at all Primary Health Centres.
“I enjoy visiting every village in Dharmapuri and meeting people. People are my inspiration. Seeing them makes me happy, and I believe they are happy when they see me,” she said.
P.C. Duraisamy Praises Soumya Anbumani
Sakthi Masala founder P.C. Duraisamy, in his address, praised Soumya Anbumani for her communication style and personality.
He described her speeches as constructive and precise and said she had emerged as an outstanding personality. Referring to Dr. Anbumani Ramadoss, he said that he was an example of the saying that there is a man behind every successful woman.
Duraisamy also said that he considered himself an example of the same.
The ceremony recognised women who have contributed to different fields and brought together award recipients, guests and participants at the Chennai event.
