Waaree Energies Becomes India’s Largest ALMM-Approved Solar Manufacturer, Crosses 20 GW
Chennai: Waaree Energies Limited has cemented its position as India’s leading solar manufacturer with the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) publishing its expanded listing under the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM).
According to the latest MNRE notification, Waaree’s Chikhli (Gujarat) facility has been listed with an ALMM-approved capacity of 16.444 GW, taking the company’s total solar module manufacturing capacity in India — including Indosolar — to 20.17 GW.
Advanced Modules Added to Portfolio
The updated ALMM list includes new high-efficiency module models from Waaree’s SG Chikhli plant, such as:
- G12R TOPCon
- G12 TOPCon
- G12 HJT modules
These additions strengthen Waaree’s product portfolio across advanced cell technologies, supporting utility-scale, commercial & industrial (C&I), and rooftop solar projects nationwide.
Leadership Statement
Commenting on the milestone, Mr. Sunil Rathi, Executive Director, Waaree Group, said: “This expanded ALMM listing marks a key milestone in Waaree’s journey of building scale with technology leadership. Crossing 20 GW of India manufacturing capacity reflects our long-term commitment to strengthening domestic solar manufacturing, improving efficiency benchmarks, and supporting India’s clean energy transition.”
He added that the inclusion of advanced TOPCon and HJT modules reinforces supply chain confidence for developers and policymakers while positioning Waaree to meet evolving project requirements.
Supporting India’s Renewable Goals
The announcement comes as India accelerates solar installations to achieve its 500 GW non-fossil fuel capacity target by 2030. Domestic manufacturing is increasingly seen as a critical pillar of energy security, cost stability, and quality assurance.
With continued investments in advanced cell technologies, automation, and backward integration, Waaree Energies remains focused on delivering high-performance, ALMM-compliant solar modules aligned with India’s renewable growth roadmap.
