DRA Partners with US Firm to Deploy AI in Construction Projects

Chennai: Chennai-based real estate developer DRA has partnered with California-based Slate Technologies Inc. to deploy its AI-powered construction platform, Slate AI, across project operations in India.

With this move, DRA becomes the first Indian real estate company to adopt the platform, marking a shift towards AI-led construction management aimed at improving efficiency, quality control and project delivery timelines.

The company said the platform will be integrated across key functions including project management, site monitoring, quality inspection, procurement, workforce productivity and safety analytics. It also enables real-time decision-making and delay prediction, helping reduce execution risks.

Currently, Slate AI is being deployed across DRA projects in Chennai spanning about 3.3 million sq. ft., covering nearly 2,000 workers and over 100 technical staff.

A key feature of the system is its real-time multilingual communication capability, designed to improve coordination among diverse site teams.

Ranjeeth Rathod, Managing Director of DRA, said the partnership marks the beginning of “Construction 2.0” in India, combining technology and execution discipline to deliver quality homes on time.

Senthil Kumar, Global Head of AI at Slate Technologies, said the collaboration reflects a broader shift in the construction sector towards AI-driven execution and improved project predictability.

The partnership also signals Slate Technologies’ expansion into the Indian market, highlighting growing adoption of AI solutions in the country’s real estate sector.
