Jayant Chaudhary Inaugurates Daycare Facility for Children of MSDE Employees at Kaushal Bhawan
New Delhi: Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship and Minister of State for Education, Jayant Chaudhary, inaugurated a new daycare facility for the children of employees at Kaushal Bhawan, the headquarters of the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), on Sunday.
The facility has been established as part of efforts to support working parents and create a more inclusive workplace environment within the ministry.
Spread across nearly 600 square metres, the daycare centre has been designed to provide a safe and supportive environment for children aged between six months and six years. The facility includes sleeping and resting areas, a play and activity zone, learning resources, child-friendly furniture, hygienic washrooms, and dedicated feeding and baby-changing rooms.
According to the ministry, the centre will be managed by trained caregivers and support staff to address the developmental and childcare needs of young children.
The initiative is aimed at helping employees balance professional responsibilities with family commitments by providing childcare facilities closer to the workplace.
Several senior officials attended the inauguration, including Debashree Mukherjee, Secretary, MSDE; Dilip Kumar, Director General (Training), Directorate General of Training (DGT); Prof. (Dr.) Ashok Kumar Gaba, Executive Member, National Council for Vocational Education and Training (NCVET); Niranjan Kumar Sudhansu, Additional Secretary, MSDE; Manisha Sensarma, Senior Economic Advisor, MSDE; Hena Usman, Joint Secretary, MSDE; Archana Mayaram, Economic Advisor, MSDE; Manasi Sahay Thakur, Joint Secretary, MSDE; and M. Subramanian, Joint Secretary, MSDE, among other officials from the ministry and affiliated organisations.
The ministry stated that the daycare facility forms part of broader efforts to develop workplace environments that are responsive to the needs of employees and their families. The initiative aligns with ongoing efforts to create inclusive and people-focused institutions as India’s workforce continues to evolve.
