Vedantu Tamil Nadu Students Secure 360+ Medical Seats in NEET UG 2026; Chennai’s Sreecharaan R Tops State with AIR 779
Chennai: Vedantu has announced that more than 360 students from Tamil Nadu have secured medical seats in NEET UG 2026, marking one of the organisation’s strongest performances in the state since launching its offline centres two years ago.
According to Vedantu, the results reflect the contribution of its learning ecosystem, which includes experienced faculty, one-to-one mentoring, AI-assisted learning, regular assessments, and interactive classrooms.
Tamil Nadu emerged as one of Vedantu’s top-performing states this year, with its Chennai centres at Velachery, Anna Nagar, and Tambaram making a significant contribution to the overall results.
Among Chennai students, the highest NEET scores recorded were 651, 640, and 625.
The top performer from Tamil Nadu was Sreecharaan R of Chennai, who secured All India Rank (AIR) 779. Other leading performers from the state include:
- Murugeswaran K – AIR 839
- Amirdha V – AIR 1641
At the national level, Sarthak Patil from Sangli, Maharashtra, who studied in Vedantu’s Two-Year Classroom Programme, secured AIR 10. The organisation also stated that more than 20 Vedantu students across India scored above 600 marks in NEET UG 2026.
Vedantu highlighted the performance of repeater students, stating that over 50 students significantly improved their scores compared to previous attempts. Some of the improvements include:
- Sreecharaan R: 476 → 651
- Nyasia Aziz: 190 → 468
- Avantiha R: 158 → 463
- Raghav U: 240 → 556
- Vijay P R: 101 → 466
The organisation said similar improvement stories were reported from Hyderabad, Patiala, Madurai, Tiruchirappalli, and Coimbatore.
Vedantu also noted that one out of every five medical seat selections this year came from its offline centres.
Its School Integrated Programme (SIP) expanded from 12 partner schools in 2025 to 20 schools in 2026. Among the reported achievements, a student from SSM Tambaram secured AIR 839 with 640 marks, while students from Aurobindo School scored 640 and above 550 marks.
In Tirunelveli district, Vedantu stated that a student recommended through a government initiative by the District Collector secured the highest SC category score of 468 among participating students.
The organisation also acknowledged Shimon Joseph, one of its Master Teachers, for his role in mentoring students through concept-based teaching and structured preparation.
Vedantu said its learning ecosystem includes Ved AI Personal Mentor, Smart Clickers, and real-time classroom feedback tools. It has also introduced a new initiative called “Wave Change”, under which student achievements in competitive examinations such as Olympiads, NEET, and JEE are recognised at the beginning of classroom sessions to encourage other students.
Commenting on the results, Anand Prakash, Co-founder and Head of Academics, Vedantu, said the achievements reflect the combined efforts of students, teachers, and the organisation’s focus on personalised learning.
