Searches for Organic and Health Food Stores Rise 28% Across India: Justdial Report
Mumbai: Searches related to organic and health food stores, specialty food products, grocery retail, food testing, and nutrition services have increased across India over the past year, according to an analysis released by Justdial.
The study compares search volumes between July 2025–June 2026 and July 2024–June 2025, indicating growing consumer interest in food quality, authenticity, and informed dietary choices.
The report comes at a time when greater attention is being given to food labelling and product claims, with consumers increasingly seeking trusted retailers, certified products, nutrition experts, and food quality verification services.
Organic & Health Food Searches Increase by 28%
According to the analysis, searches for Organic & Health Food Stores increased by 28% across India during the study period.
Among cities, Delhi recorded the highest increase at 74%, followed by Ahmedabad (44%). Chennai and Jaipur each registered a 30% increase, while Pune (29%), Hyderabad (28%), and Bangalore and Chandigarh (20% each) also recorded growth.
Demand for Health & Specialty Food Continues to Grow
Searches for Health & Specialty Food increased by 9% nationwide.
Hyderabad led the category with a 25% increase, followed by Chennai (24%), Ahmedabad (21%), Bangalore (19%), and Pune (16%), reflecting growing demand for products that cater to specific dietary and nutritional preferences.
Grocery Retail Searches Also Rise
Searches for Grocery & Food Retail increased by 10% across the country.
The highest growth was recorded in Rajasthan and Gwalior, both registering a 25% increase. Solapur and Patiala recorded 18% growth each, while Patna and Indore saw a 15% increase in searches.
Interest in Food Testing Services Increases
The report also noted increased searches for Food Testing & Quality Certification services.
Patna recorded the highest growth at 29%, followed by Lucknow (23%), Kanpur (18%), and Vadodara (12%). The trend indicates growing interest in food safety, quality assessment, and regulatory compliance.
Nutrition Consultants Witness Higher Search Volumes
Searches for Nutrition & Diet Consultants also recorded growth across major cities.
Delhi led the category with a 31% increase, followed by Bangalore (28%), Pune (25%), Mumbai (20%), and Chennai (16%).
Growing Focus on Food Quality
The findings suggest that consumers are placing greater emphasis on food quality, transparency, and informed dietary decisions. The increasing search activity across organic food stores, specialty food retailers, nutrition professionals, and food testing services reflects a broader shift towards trusted sources and verified information when making food-related choices.
