Airbnb Celebrates Women’s Empowerment, Reports INR 2.6 Billion Earned by Indian Women Hosts in 2024
Chennai: This International Women’s Day, Airbnb is highlighting the significant contribution of Indian women hosts on its platform. In 2024, women hosts in India collectively earned approximately INR 2.6 billion, accounting for nearly 30% of Airbnb’s host community in the country.
These women have not only provided unique experiences for guests but have also achieved significant financial success, with over 56% receiving 5-star reviews. Additionally, almost 35% of Guest Favourite listings in India are hosted by women, showcasing their excellence in hospitality.
Amanpreet Singh Bajaj, Airbnb’s Country Head for India and Southeast Asia, said, “We’re committed to accelerating action for gender equality by creating a platform where women can thrive. Our data shows that women hosts are delivering exceptional hospitality while achieving financial independence.”
Indian women travelers are also embracing Airbnb, with female Millennial travelers leading the charge for bookings, followed by Gen Zs. The most popular domestic destinations for Indian women travelers in 2024 were Goa, Delhi, Bengaluru, Pune, and Jaipur, while London, Dubai, Bangkok, Paris, and Rome were the top international destinations.
