Mahindra Empowers Women with WE Hunnar Project, Providing Skills and Livelihood Opportunities

Bengaluru: Mahindra Last Mile Mobility Limited (MLMML) has successfully trained 245 women under its Mahindra WE (Women Entrepreneurs) Hunnar initiative, launched in July 2024. The project aims to empower women in the mobility sector by providing skills and livelihood opportunities.

The initiative offers training in three courses: 3W/4W driving, customer care executive, and EV repair and maintenance. So far, 52 women have been trained to drive three and four-wheelers, while 185 women have been upskilled as customer care executives, and eight women in EV repair and maintenance.

Mahindra has also facilitated the licensing process and extended loan opportunities to help these women achieve financial independence. Many of the trained women have secured placements, creating long-term employment opportunities.

Suman Mishra, MD & CEO of Mahindra Last Mile Mobility, stated, “The Mahindra WE Hunnar initiative is our commitment to creating equitable access to mobility and livelihoods. We aim to empower women through skill development and entrepreneurship, fostering a more inclusive and sustainable future.”

Given the project’s success, MLMML plans to expand the initiative to other cities, reinforcing its vision of driving positive change under its CSR initiative.
