World Hypertension Day Observed in Chennai
Chennai: The World Hypertension League (WHL), in collaboration with the Indian Society of Hypertension and Association of Physicians of India, Chennai Chapter, organized a full-day event at Chettinad Vidyasram, Chennai, to raise awareness about hypertension and promote accurate blood pressure measurement.
The event began with triple blood pressure readings for attendees, followed by a public awareness talk and a pledge signature campaign. Renowned doctors, cardiologists, nephrologists, and neurologists delivered a series of medical talks and discussions on the latest guidelines and clinical experiences in hypertension management.
This year’s theme, “Measure Your Blood Pressure Accurately, Control It, Live Longer,” emphasizes the importance of accurate BP measurement and effective hypertension control for a healthy life. The event aimed to educate the public and medical fraternity about hypertension’s risks and management.
The WHL highlighted various educational resources, including certification courses, calls to action, guidelines, and studies on hypertension prevention and management. These resources are available on the WHL website and aim to promote global hypertension awareness and control.
