BirthRight by Rainbow Hospitals Celebrates Mother’s Day Across Chennai, Brings 1,000+ Families Together

Chennai: BirthRight by Rainbow Hospitals, the women’s health, maternity and fertility care division of Rainbow Children’s Hospital, celebrated Mother’s Day with city-wide community events across Chennai, bringing together over 1,000 women, mothers, children and families.

The celebrations were held simultaneously at Marina Mall and Ampa SkyOne, transforming neighbourhood spaces into vibrant hubs of shared celebration. The evening featured live music, instant photo booths, family-friendly games and interactive activities designed for both parents and children.

Families from areas including Sholinganallur and Anna Nagar participated in large numbers, turning the occasion into a community-driven celebration of motherhood. The events provided mothers an opportunity to step away from their daily routines and be at the centre of the celebrations, while also encouraging bonding across families and generations.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Nivedita S, Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist at BirthRight by Rainbow Hospitals, said that motherhood is shaped not just by milestones but also by everyday moments of care, connection and support. She added that the initiative aimed to extend support beyond hospital settings and create meaningful spaces for families to celebrate together.

Gunashekar C, Cluster Head, Rainbow Children’s Hospital, Chennai, said the initiative reflects the hospital’s commitment to community engagement and family-centred care. He noted that hosting simultaneous events across multiple neighbourhoods enabled wider participation and strengthened the hospital’s connection with the community.

BirthRight by Rainbow Hospitals offers comprehensive perinatal care services, including normal and high-risk obstetric care, multidisciplinary foetal care, genetic and fertility services, along with gynaecology care.

The initiative, conceptualised as a neighbourhood-led Mother’s Day celebration, highlighted the importance of community-driven engagement by creating accessible and inclusive spaces for families to come together and celebrate motherhood.
