CIIC Hosts 5th Mega Demo Day & Startup Showcase 2026, Bringing Together 150+ Startups and Investors in Chennai

Chennai: The Crescent Innovation & Incubation Council (CIIC) successfully hosted the 5th Mega Demo Day and Startup Showcase 2026 at its campus in Vandalur, Chennai, bringing together startups, investors, industry experts, policymakers, and entrepreneurs from across India.

The one-day event featured more than 150 startups and over 200 exhibition stalls, showcasing innovations across sectors including Life Sciences, Industry 5.0, Smart & Clean Mobility, Agribusiness, Nutraceuticals, and MSMEs. The event served as a platform for startups to present their innovations, interact with investors, and explore opportunities for collaboration and funding.

CIIC Highlights Seven Years of Growth

Addressing the gathering, Mr. Abdul Qadir, Founding Chairman of CIIC & AIC-CIIC, reflected on the organisation’s journey over the past seven years.

He said CIIC currently supports more than 157 incubated startups and has helped 80 ventures graduate from its incubation programme. According to the organisation, it has facilitated over ₹520 crore (approximately USD 62 million) in funding, generated more than 2,107 jobs, and established over 100,000 square feet of incubation infrastructure.

CIIC also stated that it has received support from eight Union Ministries and two State Ministries, while facilitating 200 patents as part of its efforts to strengthen India’s innovation ecosystem.

Government Officials and Industry Leaders Attend

The inaugural session was attended by Dr. Veerappan IAS, District Collector of Chengalpattu, along with several government officials, industry leaders, investors, and startup ecosystem representatives.

Discussions Focus on Innovation and Future Technologies

The event featured a fireside chat titled “Disruption by Design”, with CK Kumaravel, Co-founder and CMD of Naturals Salon, and Srinath Ravichandran, Co-founder and CEO of Agnikul, discussing entrepreneurship and innovation.

Panel discussions addressed topics such as “Beyond Borders – Creating Sovereign Technology in an Age of Uncertainty” and “Future Mobility (10x Thinking),” focusing on emerging technologies and India’s innovation landscape.

A major highlight of the event was Fundora 2.0, a dedicated closed-door pitching session where selected startups presented their business ideas to venture capital firms, angel investors, and funding partners.
