Shree Cement Launches “Kutumb Utsav” to Strengthen Workplace Safety Culture
Mumbai: Shree Cement Limited, one of India’s leading cement manufacturers, has introduced “Kutumb Utsav”, a monthly Family Inclusive Safety Engagement Program designed to deepen workplace health and safety practices by involving the families of contract workmen.
The initiative aims to reinforce safe behaviour, motivate workers through positive engagement, and build a stronger sense of collective responsibility toward safety. Recognising the role families play in encouraging workers to prioritise personal safety, the programme seeks to ensure that every employee returns home safely each day.
As part of Kutumb Utsav, families will be invited to visit the plant to gain an understanding of the work environment and the safety systems in place. The visits will include an overview of key safety initiatives, with the Unit Head emphasising the company’s commitment to employee wellbeing.
By formally engaging families in safety awareness, Shree Cement intends to embed a culture where safe practices are consistently upheld and unsafe actions actively discouraged. The programme will be rolled out across all Shree Cement manufacturing units, covering contract employees and associates.
Speaking on the launch, Satish Maheshwari, Chief Manufacturing Officer, Shree Cement, said: “At Shree Cement, safety is a shared responsibility that extends beyond the workplace. Through Kutumb Utsav, we are bringing families into this dialogue to reinforce why consistent safe behaviour is essential for every individual. When the importance of returning home safely is understood collectively, our commitment to safe practices becomes stronger across all levels.”
The initiative forms part of Shree Cement’s ongoing efforts to foster a proactive, people-centred, and sustainable safety culture across its operations.
