Vande Mataram Marks Vijay’s Swearing-in Ceremony at Nehru Indoor Stadium

Chennai: “Vande Mataram” was performed at the swearing-in ceremony of Vijay, which is currently taking place at the Nehru Indoor Stadium in Chennai.

According to earlier directives issued by the Central Government, “Vande Mataram” is to be rendered alongside the National Anthem at government functions and in educational institutions. However, the directive had not been consistently implemented in several states, including Tamil Nadu during the previous DMK administration.

At today’s ceremony marking Vijay’s assumption of office as Chief Minister, the sequence of performances included “Vande Mataram,” followed by the National Anthem and the “Tamil Thai Vazhthu.”

This occasion is being noted as a significant moment in Tamil Nadu’s political landscape, with a structured rendition of these national and state songs during a chief ministerial swearing-in ceremony.
