Resonia Secures Kurnool IV REZ Power Transmission Project in Telangana

Mumbai: Resonia Ltd., a power transmission infrastructure company, has been awarded the Kurnool IV REZ Power Transmission Limited project in Telangana by the Ministry of Power.

The Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS) project is aimed at strengthening transmission connectivity between Andhra Pradesh and Telangana and facilitating the integration of renewable energy generated from the Kurnool Renewable Energy Zone (REZ).

According to the company, the project spans approximately 120 kilometres and is expected to support the evacuation of nearly 3 GW of renewable energy planned under Kurnool IV REZ Phase II.

The scope of work includes the establishment of a 765/400 kV Doma substation, augmentation of the existing Kurnool-IV pooling station, and the development of associated transmission infrastructure.

The project will also involve the Loop-In Loop-Out (LILO) of the Kurnool-IV–Bidar 765 kV double-circuit transmission line at Doma. In addition, two 400 kV double-circuit transmission lines will be developed to connect the Doma substation with the existing Shadnagar and Kethiredipally substations operated by TGTRANSCO.

Commenting on the development, Prashant Sinha, Chief Executive Officer of Resonia Ltd., said that the project reflects the growing requirement for interstate transmission infrastructure to support renewable energy integration and grid stability.

The company stated that the project is intended to support large-scale renewable energy evacuation, improve grid flexibility, and strengthen power transmission infrastructure in the region.

Formerly known as Sterlite Grid 32 Limited, Resonia Ltd. operates more than 14,499 circuit kilometres of transmission lines across India and is engaged in the development and operation of power transmission assets.
