MiPhi Partners with Sharaf DG to Expand into UAE Market

Mumbai: MiPhi Semiconductors, a joint venture between India’s Micromax Informatics and Taiwan-based Phison Electronics, has partnered with UAE electronics retailer Sharaf DG to expand its presence in the Middle East market.

Under the partnership, Sharaf DG will distribute MiPhi’s products in the UAE, initially focusing on enterprise solid-state drives (SSDs) and AI-driven storage solutions. The companies may subsequently explore opportunities in consumer storage and embedded memory.

MiPhi said the partnership would support its international expansion by bringing its storage technologies to a wider customer base in the UAE.

Vikas Jain, Co-Founder of MiPhi, said the growing adoption of artificial intelligence was increasing the importance of high-performance storage infrastructure. He added that the joint venture combines Phison’s semiconductor expertise with Micromax’s manufacturing capabilities and market knowledge.

Nilesh Khalkho, CEO of Sharaf DG, said the partnership would help expand the retailer’s technology portfolio and address the growing demand for enterprise and AI storage solutions in the region.

The agreement marks a step in MiPhi’s international expansion, with the UAE serving as its initial focus under the partnership.
