GTB Urban Developers Unveils India’s First Man-Made Beach Township on ECR
Chennai: GT Bharathi Urban Developers Pvt. Ltd. (GTB), a leading name in Chennai’s real estate landscape, has announced the launch of Republic of Nature (RON), India’s first man-made beach micronation, located along the scenic East Coast Road (ECR). The pioneering 32-acre township blends luxury living with ecological restoration, marking a new chapter in sustainable urban development.
Envisioned as a low-density, car-free community, Republic of Nature integrates nature-inspired design with modern amenities. GTB is reviving four natural ponds, a bioswale, and over six acres of native green cover, creating a serene environment that reconnects residents with nature.
In a major hospitality partnership, GTB has joined hands with The Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL), India’s largest hospitality group and custodian of the Taj brand—recently ranked as the World’s Strongest Hotel Brand 2025 by Brand Finance. The collaboration will bring a 120-key IHCL SeleQtions hotel to the township, positioning it as a wellness-focused weekend getaway destination on Chennai’s ECR.
The project, valued at ₹2,500 crore across four phases over five years, will feature resort-style villas, villaments, row houses, and premium apartments, with a density of just 15 units per acre. Future phases will include internationally branded residences, further elevating the township’s global appeal.
