Rotary Club of Madras, Thoon Trust Launch Bio-Methanation Plant at Chennai School

Chennai: The Rotary Club of Madras (RI Dist. 3234) and The Thoon Trust, in partnership with the Residents of Kasturibangar Association (ROKA), inaugurated a Bio-Methanation Plant at Chennai Primary School, Thiruvanmiyur.

The facility converts organic waste into clean energy, promoting sustainable practices and serving as a learning model for students.

The event was attended by Rotary leaders including President Rtn. Nikhil Raj, Honorary Secretary Rtn. Prasanna Rajagopalan, and Environment Action Committee Chairperson Rtn. B. V. Gautam, alongside community representatives and school staff.

Special recognition was given to Rtn. Kadresan and Mrs. Vasughi of The Thoon Trust for spearheading the initiative.

The project highlights the power of community collaboration in advancing renewable energy and environmental stewardship in Chennai.
