Tamara Leisure Experiences Wins Five Honours at FHRAI 56th Annual Convention

Mumbai: Tamara Leisure Experiences (TLE) has received five honours at the FHRAI 56th Annual Convention, with awards recognising hospitality leadership, culinary excellence, human resources, property performance and wellness.

The awards were presented across individual and property categories covering TLE’s hospitality portfolio.

Five Honours Across TLE Properties

At The Tamara Coorg, Mohd Jafar was recognised as Hotel Front Office Manager of the Year – Luxury Hotels (Male).

Chef Baranidharan M of O by Tamara Coimbatore was named Executive Chef of the Year – Midscale Hotels (Male), while Jijo Mathew of O by Tamara Thiruvananthapuram received the Human Resources Manager of the Year – Upscale Hotels (Male) award.

At the property level, O by Tamara Coimbatore was named Best Upscale Hotel of the Year.

Amal Tamara received the award for Best Wellness Resort, recognising its focus on holistic Ayurvedic wellness.

Speaking about the recognition, Samir M.C., CEO, Tamara Leisure Experiences, said the awards reflected the contribution of the group’s employees, destinations and hospitality experiences.

He said the recognition across both individual and property categories highlighted the work carried out by the teams across TLE’s properties.

FHRAI Convention Brings Together Hospitality Industry

The FHRAI 56th Annual Convention was held from August 21 to 23, 2026, at Taj Ganges.

The convention brought together more than 1,000 delegates from India and overseas, including policymakers, hospitality industry leaders and other stakeholders from the tourism and hospitality sectors.

The annual convention provided a platform for discussions and engagement on issues affecting the Indian hospitality and tourism industry.

Focus on Local Employment and Destination-Based Hospitality

Tamara Leisure Experiences said around 50% of its workforce is recruited from local communities across its properties.

The company said the approach is intended to create employment opportunities while maintaining connections with the cultural and natural characteristics of the destinations where its properties operate.

TLE operates hospitality formats including The Tamara Coorg, O by Tamara and Amal Tamara, covering luxury stays, urban hospitality and Ayurvedic wellness experiences.

The company said its hospitality approach focuses on local character, community participation and the cultural and environmental aspects of each destination.
