CREDAI STATECON 2026 Discusses Tamil Nadu’s Real Estate Growth Towards $1.5 Trillion Economy
Chennai: CREDAI Tamil Nadu’s STATECON 2026 began in Chennai on Sunday, bringing together government officials, real estate developers, financial institutions and technology experts to discuss the sector’s role in Tamil Nadu’s goal of becoming a $1.5 trillion economy by 2036.
The two-day conference, themed “Tamil Nadu 2036 – Building the Next Decade Towards a $1.5 Trillion Economy,” focuses on regulatory reforms, homebuyer preferences, financing, regional growth, artificial intelligence and robotics in construction. SBI is the title partner and JLL the knowledge partner.
The inaugural session was attended by Minorities Welfare Minister A.M. Shahjahan, SBI Chennai Circle Chief General Manager Vivekanand Choubey and CREDAI National President-elect G. Ram Reddy. A JLL report was also released.
Senior officials from TNRERA, the Housing and Urban Development Department and CMDA participated in a discussion on improving the ease of doing business in Tamil Nadu’s real estate sector.
CREDAI Tamil Nadu also inducted five new city chapters covering the Nilgiris, Kodaikanal, Vellore, Thanjavur and Karur. Tourism Minister S. Rajesh Kumar attended the induction.
The conference examined housing demand, access to finance and growth opportunities beyond Chennai. The second day’s programme focuses on artificial intelligence, robotics and emerging construction technologies.
FAIRBUILD 2026 is being held alongside the conference, connecting developers with manufacturers, suppliers and technology providers serving the construction and real estate sectors.
CREDAI Tamil Nadu President W.S. Habib said real estate would play an important role in the State’s economic growth through infrastructure, investment and urban development.
