Ampere Nexus Makes History by Conquering Shipki La Pass
Mumbai: Ampere Nexus, an electric 2-wheeler from Greaves Electric Mobility, has become the first-ever electric scooter to reach the Shipki La Pass at an altitude of 13,200 ft, riding to just 200 meters from the LOC. This achievement marks a significant milestone for the brand, showcasing the scooter’s endurance and performance in one of the nation’s most challenging terrains.
A Feat of Endurance and Performance
The expedition, undertaken to promote the Border Tourism Initiative of the Indian Army, covered over 425 km of winding mountain roads, steep gradients, and diverse terrains. The journey, which took three days to complete, was a testament to the Ampere Nexus’s capabilities and reinforced the brand’s promise of being Engineered to Outperform, Outlast, and Outshine.
Recognition and Celebration
The achievement was recognized by the India Book of Records, and the team was welcomed by Indian Army jawans at the Shipki La Pass. The team participated in a flag-hoisting ceremony to celebrate India’s 79th Independence Day, marking a powerful moment of national pride, technological progress, and environmental commitment.
