Study in Malaysia Fair Draws Strong Interest from Indian Students in Chennai

Chennai: Education Malaysia Global Services (EMGS), with support from the Consulate General of Malaysia in Chennai, hosted the MEGA Study in Malaysia Education Fair & Counsellor Workshop 2025 on 15 December 2025. The event was organised alongside the Malaysia–India Higher Education Forum (MAHEF 2025–India) and marked the largest Malaysia-focused education fair ever held in Chennai.

The fair witnessed an overwhelming response from students and parents exploring Malaysia as a preferred destination for higher education. It provided a direct engagement platform for Malaysian universities to interact with high school students, A-Level and IB candidates, university aspirants, parents, teachers, counsellors, and education agents.

A total of 15 leading Malaysian higher education institutions participated, including:

The fair aimed to strengthen Malaysia’s position as a rising global education hub by offering Indian students personalised guidance, insights into academic pathways, affordability, multicultural campus life, and internationally recognised qualifications.

The event also highlighted Malaysia’s continued commitment to enhancing academic collaboration, talent development, and student mobility between the two countries. Chennai remains one of Malaysia’s strongest recruitment markets in India, making sustained engagement crucial for building trust and visibility among prospective students.

The active participation of Malaysian institutions underscored the Malaysian government’s focus on deepening bilateral ties through education and expanding opportunities for Indian students seeking high-quality international learning experiences.
