Rajalakshmi Engineering College Holds 25th Graduation Day; 1,968 Students Receive Degrees
Chennai: Rajalakshmi Engineering College held its 25th Graduation Day on Sunday, with 1,968 students receiving degrees across 26 programmes, including 17 undergraduate and nine postgraduate programmes.
The ceremony also recognised 10 PhD graduates and 83 gold medal recipients for their academic achievements. Students, parents, faculty members, college management and well-wishers attended the event at the Rajalakshmi Engineering College auditorium.
J.C.D. Prabhakar, Speaker of the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly, was the chief guest and delivered the graduation address. Abhay Meghanathan, Vice Chairman, Rajalakshmi Group, presided over the ceremony.
J.C.D. Prabhakar Calls on Graduates to Embrace Lifelong Learning
Addressing the graduating students, J.C.D. Prabhakar said that a degree should be viewed not as the end of education but as the beginning of a journey involving continuous learning, responsibility and contribution to society.
He encouraged the graduates to apply their knowledge and skills to develop solutions that could address societal challenges.
He said the professional world would require graduates to combine technical knowledge with integrity, adaptability, empathy and the willingness to innovate. He also urged them to carry forward the values acquired during their education and use their knowledge to create a positive impact.
Prabhakar further highlighted the importance of adapting to technological changes and remaining lifelong learners.
He said graduates should be prepared to “learn, unlearn and relearn” as they progress in their careers. He also urged them to measure success not only through professional positions or status but through the positive impact created through their knowledge and actions.

Speaking at the event, Abhay Meghanathan, Vice Chairman, Rajalakshmi Group, said the 25th Graduation Day represented more than the completion of academic programmes.
He noted that the milestone reflected the collective efforts of students, parents, teachers and the institution over the years.
According to Meghanathan, graduates were taking forward not only their degrees but also the support of their parents, guidance from faculty members and the values acquired during their years at the institution.
He said Rajalakshmi would continue to focus on preparing students to meet the requirements of a rapidly changing world, with an emphasis on developing professionals, innovators, entrepreneurs and responsible citizens.

Dr. S.N. Murugesan, Principal, Rajalakshmi Engineering College, highlighted the academic diversity of this year’s graduating batch.
A total of 1,968 students completed their studies across 26 programmes, comprising 17 undergraduate and nine postgraduate programmes. The graduating cohort also included 10 PhD graduates, while 83 students received gold medals.
Dr. Murugesan said the graduating batch represented years of learning, perseverance and academic development. He expressed confidence that the students would apply the knowledge, skills and values acquired at the college in their respective fields.
He also acknowledged the role of parents and faculty members in supporting the students throughout their academic journey.
