ESICON 2026 Brings Endocrine Experts to Chennai for Four-Day Conference

Chennai: The 55th Annual Conference of the Endocrine Society of India, ESICON 2026, is being held at the Chennai Trade Centre from October 22 to 25, bringing together clinicians, researchers and trainees from India and abroad. The conference features more than 350 faculty members, including 10 international experts.

The four-day event includes scientific sessions, research presentations and workshops covering diabetes, obesity, thyroid disorders, reproductive health, osteoporosis and ageing. More than 100 original research studies are scheduled for presentation.

A key feature is the Intensive Self-Assessment and Review (ISARE) programme, designed to strengthen clinical knowledge and reasoning among endocrinology trainees and practising doctors. The conference also introduces an open endocrine quiz for the first time in its history.

A half-day patient interaction programme on October 25 will bring patients and medical experts together to discuss type 1 diabetes, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), women’s health, osteoporosis and thyroid disorders. The sessions aim to improve disease awareness and encourage informed treatment decisions and long-term self-management.

The conference also highlights Tamil Nadu’s cultural heritage. Its halls are named after the five landscapes of classical Tamil literature—Kurinji, Mullai, Marutham, Neithal and Palai. A recreation of a traditional Tamil street, titled Kadaiveedhi, and regional cuisine will introduce delegates to the state’s cultural traditions. Five publications, including TAPESTRY, will also be released.

Dr. S. Murthy, Senior Consultant Endocrinologist, will be the chief guest at the inauguration. Dr. Krishna Seshadri chairs the organising committee, while Dr. Muthukumaran Jayapaul serves as organising secretary.

The conference aims to promote collaboration among endocrinology professionals, advance research and support evidence-based patient care.
