MDIndia Health Insurance TPA Expands Chennai Operations, Plans New Health Claims Management Centre
MDIndia Health Insurance TPA has expanded its Chennai operations and announced plans to establish a new Centre of Excellence for Health Claims Management. The move is expected to strengthen claims processing and healthcare administration services across South India.
Chennai: MDIndia Health Insurance TPA Pvt. Ltd. has announced the expansion of its Chennai operations, alongside plans to establish a new Centre of Excellence for Health Claims Management in the city.
The company, an IRDAI-registered third-party administrator in the health insurance sector, said the expansion reflects the growing importance of claims servicing, hospital coordination, and customer support in India’s healthcare ecosystem.
MDIndia currently operates 23 offices across Tamil Nadu, including four offices in Chennai. The upcoming Centre of Excellence will become the company’s fifth major facility in the city dedicated to health claims management and related services.
The company’s presence in Tamil Nadu began with its first branch on Anna Salai, followed by offices at Guna Complex and Raheja Towers. As operations expanded, its Kilpauk facility grew into three dedicated offices. The latest expansion at NRCS Tower in Nungambakkam further strengthens its footprint in Chennai.
According to the company, its Chennai workforce has grown from around 100 employees during its initial years to more than 450 professionals currently. MDIndia also plans to add over 120 claims processing doctors to support claims assessment, provider management, and customer service operations.
Managing Director Sameer Bhonsale said the expansion is aimed at improving health claims management services and strengthening support for policyholders, hospitals, insurers, and corporate clients.
The company also stated that a key objective of the expansion is to create employment opportunities for professionals in Tamil Nadu. By expanding operations within Chennai, MDIndia aims to offer career growth opportunities locally, reducing the need for professionals to relocate to other metropolitan cities.
The upcoming Centre of Excellence is expected to focus on enhancing operational efficiency and technology-driven healthcare administration. The company is also working on implementing an artificial intelligence and machine learning-based claims adjudication system to support automated health claims processing in the future.
Industry observers note that Chennai has increasingly emerged as a major hub for healthcare, insurance services, and back-office operations, supported by a large talent pool and growing healthcare infrastructure.
The expansion comes as demand for efficient health insurance administration and claims management services continues to grow across South India.
